Origin Story: My First Creation, the Virtues Collection

The Greatest of these is Love

My journey into herbal creations started at home with something very simple. I wanted a subtle fragrance I actually enjoyed wearing. Something more natural than perfume, and something that would not clear a room when I walked in.

I started experimenting with essential oils blended into a carrier oil, just to see if I could create something that felt the way I hoped.

And it worked.

One of the first scents I made, what is now the Love roller, instantly lifted my mood more than I could have imagined. It made me smile and softened tension the moment I smelled it.

It was so pleasant that I began to notice something. Every time I breathed it in throughout the day, my mood shifted.

You know that happy place in a sunny meadow of fresh wildflowers? This was it!

That was the first time I experienced the power of aromatherapy, even though I had not set out to create that.

I stumbled upon it, not even realizing I was looking for this type of subtle lift.

It became something I looked forward to. A way to return to that wildflower meadow whenever I wanted.

I realized this was not a fragrance worn for others, but a small, personal treat for myself.

I started looking forward to reapplying it, just to breathe in the experience again.

I was hooked. That’s when it clicked for me.

This was the moment it shifted from something personal… into something I felt could be shared.

That spark led me to create something meaningful and intentional. A collection to reflect values I hold dear.

How it became a collection

Faith.
Hope.
Love.

A collection shaped not just by scent, but inspired by a verse that has always stayed with me:

“Now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13

That idea naturally carried into the collection.

Faith naturally became a grounding resin blend inspired by the perfumed and anointing oils mentioned in the Bible. So I blended frankincense, myrrh, spikenard, cedarwood, and a few florals to balance and round the resin notes. The resulting blend is subtle and centering in an almost meditative way. I reach for the this roller when I want a more quiet, reflective state of mind.

Hope took shape as, something uplifting and energizing. I created a citrus blend with soft peppermint notes which feels bright, but still gentle and not overpowering. I use this roller when I want to feel alive, focused and clear.

And then there is Love. My luminous 3-floral blend with citrus notes. I reach for it when I want to feel calm, content, and at ease. It was the first, and it is still my favorite.

Together, the three felt complete. They fit in my purse and go wherever I go.

How I use it

I still use it the same way I did in the beginning.

I apply it to my pulse points wrists, neck, sometimes behind my ears, and even at the crease of my elbows. Not overwhelming. Just enough.

Sometimes I just open the roller and smell it without applying it to my skin.

I take a moment to actually breath in the scent before moving on. It’s a small pause, but it feels centering. I rotate and layer the three rollers whenever the mood strikes.

Throughout the day, I reapply when I want that same feeling again.

You might use it the same way, as part of your routine. Or you might reach for it whenever you need a reset.

You may find yourself drawn to one scent, or rotating through them as your mood shifts.

There is no right or wrong way. It simply becomes something that is yours. I am glad to share it.

Where it led next

After that experience, I wanted to keep going.

I had already fallen in love with the idea of simple, natural creations, so I started researching more traditional herbalist methods.

That is what led me to my next experiment.

Infused oils.

And that is where things really began to expand.
